Rita Davis

Rita is a single mom of three who was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in December of 2021. Although the cancer was caught early, there was still lymph node involvement.  She went through chemo from February to June of 2022, and had a bilateral mastectomy that August.  She had 28 rounds of radiation, having to stop because her skin could no longer take it.

Rita applied to the AiRS Foundation in hopes of getting financial assistance for DIEP flap surgery, her only option for reconstruction.  She has found it hard to keep up financially through the process and medical expenses.  Her hope is to feel some sort of normalcy and have closure to this journey.  The possibility of feeling whole again is something she has been looking forward to since her diagnosis in 2021.

“I’m over the moon to have been awarded this assistance.  I genuinely appreciate the AiRS Foundation”– Rita
