Sarah’s Story: Rebuilding After Breast Cancer

Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 41 years old. As a wife and mother of two, her world turned upside down with the news. She underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation—enduring not only the physical toll but also the emotional weight that comes with losing part of herself.

Despite surviving cancer, Sarah was left with a sense of incompleteness. She shared, “Reconstruction is such a critical part of healing, but it often feels out of reach.” Like many women, the financial burden made reconstructive surgery nearly impossible—until she found the AiRS Foundation.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, Sarah was approved for funding to receive her long-awaited reconstruction. It was more than a surgery—it was the chance to feel like herself again.

“Thank you for helping me reclaim my body and my confidence,” Sarah says. “This support means the world to me and my family.”
