Kimberley’s Story: From Exhaustion to Empowerment
Kimberley’s breast cancer journey has been anything but straightforward. What began with determination and a hopeful “Okay, I got this” mindset soon gave way to frustration and fatigue after seven long weeks of bed rest, surgical complications, and repeated delays. The emotional toll was heavy—but the financial burden was even heavier.
Between mounting insurance premiums, costly medications, and transportation expenses for countless doctor visits, cancer quickly became an overwhelming financial challenge. Kimberley also faced physical setbacks—she hasn’t been able to properly use one arm since her lymph node biopsy, making it even harder to contribute to her family’s financial needs.
But thanks to the generosity of AiRS Foundation donors, Kimberley received the support she needed. She was granted financial assistance for her Stage 2 bilateral delayed DIEP flap reconstruction—an essential step in helping her feel whole again. She also received a CAiRS care kit to support her healing journey.
Today, Kimberley is on a path toward recovery, filled with renewed hope—all made possible by donors like you.
